In my last blog post, I shared our concerns about Youth Unemployment by referring to the topic of Youth Unemployment. In this blog post, I will share some of my thoughts and suggestions for Group C and Group E.
- Group C – The Listener
The title of Group C is The Listener. The research background is the problem of student suicide, which is a teenager or youth problem that needs to be concerned in today’s society. In addition to work and family, stress is now more and more manifested in students. Homework, exams and campus life all have a significant impact on students’ mental health. I learned a lot of data from the pitch of this group, which proves that there are very many cases of student suicide. It is predicted that the number of suicides will reach 1400 from 2019 to now. Very exaggerated, very scary statistics!
I saw that Group C chose Instagram and blog websites as platforms to listen to and care about high school students to cope with and relieve pressure by introducing professionals and research methods. This is a meaningful platform, and I hope it can help high school students in need to know how to get help and how to have a positive attitude to face the pressure, so as to reduce the suicide rate and a series of mental health problems of high school students.
In addition, I suggest that we add some interview links, and publish students’ opinions on pressure on the platform for others to refer to. I am looking forward to the next step of development and progress!
2. Group E – Homelessness
The title of Group E is homelessness in Hong Kong. Through the pitch of this Group, relevant data shows that the number of homeless has been increasing, which is also a problem that needs high social attention. I learned that Group E chose Instagram as a communication medium for those who are homeless to seek help. I believe this platform can reach these people, who are often helpless and don’t know where to turn for support.
In addition to providing a communication channel for homeless people to seek help, THE online platform of Group E will request the government to provide users with subsidies and donations, and let the society help this Group through donations. The range is wide, including related institutions, restaurants, shops, even to provide employment opportunities. The platform can raise awareness and awareness of homelessness.
I will continue to pay attention to their follow-up and hope that we can also provide some of our limited resources to help this group. I think it might be difficult to implement because there are so many requests involved.
