ARE CLUBS IMPORTANT FOR US ?
Nowadays, there are various types of clubs in university, and students can choose to join where they are attractive. The existence of college student associations provides students with such a diversified learning and practice platform. The content of student club activities is relatively wealthy, also can be selected from a wide range of types. Some knowledge-based, academic, and technological student associations can help students acquire specific scientific and cultural knowledge, cultivate their scientific and technical innovation capabilities, and consolidate professional knowledge. It plays an important role in the growth of the university. The main manifestations are:
- Cultural integration, where everyone exchanges information and learning experience together, and communicates in an equal atmosphere. To influence each other culturally. You will meet members from different courses and countries in the club, which will allow you to learn about additional knowledge and cultures.
- Peer groups can resonate in thought among college students and help college students to form correct values. For college students throughout the school, a series of academic seminars, cultural exchanges, and social practice activities organized by the student associations have greatly enriched the school’s campus culture, making the campus’s humanistic atmosphere more robust, lively, active, and healthy. The colorful club activities make the cultural life of students colorful and become a stage for college students to develop their potential and show themselves. (Abbott, L., 2016)
I believe that club activities are participatory activities of college students. The club culture I believe that club activities are participatory activities of college students. The club culture has increasingly become an educational resource, which impacts college students’ quality development and improvement. The specific manifestations are:
- Some club involves philosophy, politics, economy, history, art and other related humanistic fields. Students can absorb knowledge, broaden their horizons, and improve their humanistic qualities according to their own needs. Students may be interested in it but will not choose these subjects as main subjects to study. So, students can select the type of club to join.
- It can consolidate and improve professional knowledge and skills. By participating in club activities, college students can reduce their professional knowledge learning, broaden their academic vision and expertise, fully stimulate and mobilize their learning enthusiasm, and deepen the understanding and knowledge of curriculum knowledge. Understand, make one’s own professional knowledge and skills more proficient. (Busteed, B., 2019)
- The club cultural activities start from the students’ hobbies, which is conducive to the active participation of students and stimulates our creative thinking. Cultivate innovation ability; the development of club cultural activities requires club members to organize special training or plan the entire club activities so that students can exercise their organizational skills in the activities. Including the ability to choose, coordinate, and self-control; cultural activities of the group It provides college students with a broad communication venue, increases opportunities for contact with society and others, can exercise students’ communicative skills, lectures, speeches, debates, essays, and other activities organized by clubs. It can cultivate students’ expression skills; The planning and organization of club activities are controlled by ourselves, which can improve the practical ability of college students.
The contradiction between the lag of book knowledge and the needs of college students’ socialization has become prominent. Give college students on campus the opportunity to gradually transform from “marginal people" to “social people." University life is a diversified stage of life. At this stage, everyone is playing a different role and has an irreplaceable position. Therefore, I think that various clubs and student unions in the university provide sufficient conditions for students to develop their individuality and create self-preparation. They are a miniaturized society where they can give play to their strengths, or they can. Learn practical knowledge of interpersonal communication, at the same time, the spirit of self-management and self-education of the community. (Waterston, E. H.2012)
Whether students want to know more knowledge or skills, I think clubs should be a “fun bridge" for college life. Let students develop and explore different areas. That’s a good thing!
